I'm Michelle Cade, founder of Mind Like Water Music & Wellbeing. Originally from South Africa and now based in London, I’m a sound therapist, vocalist, music producer, and group facilitator.
I create immersive sound experiences, facilitate meditations, and produce therapeutic music using a combination of binaural and monaural beats, nature sounds, and instruments including Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, steel tongue drum, monochord, and my voice.
I’m passionate about supporting others to awaken their potential and expand their minds to discover the endless possibilities available to them when they believe in themselves and their vision.
Through the integration of sound, voice, and personal growth tools, I help guide mindset shifts and facilitate access to deeper brain wave states. Reconnecting you with your true nature and tapping into the answers and inner guidance system that’s alive, overflowing and always available to you.
My work has been featured in The Guardian, Time Out, Mail on Sunday, and the Evening Standard. I’ve led workshops and performances at events like Balance Festival, Wanderlust, and Mind Body Spirit Festival, with clients including Google and Samsung.

Everything has a unique sound and vibration, even if it's inaudible to us. The natural frequency at which something vibrates is called resonance, and each part of our body has its own.
Vibrational medicine is based on the idea that illness occurs when these natural resonances become out of sync due to factors like stress, trauma, illness, or environmental influences.
Since stress is widely recognised as a major contributor to illness, treatments that promote relaxation can be effective in both prevention and healing.
Sound therapy is particularly powerful in activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which shifts the body from "fight or flight" mode to a relaxed state.
This shift boosts immunity and promotes healthy functioning of the endocrine system. Encouraging the release of healing hormones like endorphins, oxytocin, serotonin, melatonin (for sleep) and nitric oxide for overall vitality.
In contrast, staying in a sympathetic state (due to stress, perceived danger, or pain) can lead to harmful overproduction of cortisol and inflammatory molecules.
Therapeutic sound and music also help us to reach deeper states of consciousness.
Your brain waves start to slow down and synchronise with the overtones and sounds because of the principle of Sympathetic Resonance.
Resonance is the vibratory rate of an object and Sympathetic Resonance is when one vibrating object causes another to vibrate in harmony with it, or match it’s rate of vibration.
This facilitates meditative states where we can access inner resources and wisdom.
In these Alpha and Theta states, the subconscious becomes more receptive to positive affirmations and healing suggestions.
And makes it easier to replace negative thoughts and limiting beliefs with empowering ones as you bypass the critical conscious mind and directly influence your subconscious.

Healing is learning to dance with the waves of life, instead of resisting them.
The word binaural means “having or relating to two ears”. Brainwave entrainment happens inside the brain and is caused by a physiological response.
Binaural beats effectively synchronise & entrain your brainwaves to enhance a specific brainwave pattern. Entraining your brainwaves can be a highly effective method for personal growth by allowing you to change your state whenever you want.
When you hear two tones of different frequencies sent simultaneously to the left and right ears through headphones, the brain perceives a third tone based on the mathematical difference between the two frequencies.
The brain then follows along at the new frequency, producing brainwaves at the same rate of Hertz (5Hz in this case, inducing Theta Brain Waves). The technical term for this process is ‘frequency following response.
WHAT ARE BRAIN WAVE STATES?
Imagine brain waves as different frequencies of electrical activity in your brain, like different music genres.
Delta: Deep sleep, like a slow, soothing lullaby.
Theta: Daydreaming or light sleep, akin to gentle background music.
Alpha: Relaxed wakefulness, similar to a calm, steady rhythm.
Beta: Active thinking, akin to upbeat, fast-paced music. Gamma: Intense focus or high-level processing, like a powerful symphony reaching its peak.
Each brain wave state plays its own role in your daily experiences and activities.
